Quorums Protect Members' Voices

Welcome graphic

CUE's proposed constitutional amendment for conventions has some serious flaws that are cause for concern. In several places, the proponents of this amendment would eliminate and/or severely reduce the required quorum for a valid membership vote on important issues. Quorums protect members' voices in the union. We encourage a "no" vote.

If CUE members turn this down, we can work with members who are supporting this measure to develop an amendment that we can ALL support!

On this page you can see two statements explaining our thinking on this crucial matter. You're invited to add any additional points that should be made on this page. We welcome you to add your name to the list of members who oppose this amendment. Please send us a note, and we'll be happy to add you. We also seek volunteers to help raise these issues in all the locals, so let us know if you can help.
